How to Check the Battery of Your CyberMed/Cybernet T10 Tablet Battery to see if it has been disconnected internally

If your tablet will not take a charge at all, this can either be due to the battery being dead or the battery becoming disconnected internally. The battery can come disconnected if the tablet is bumped too hard or dropped accidentally. The good news is that it isn't too difficult to check and see if the battery has come disconnected. All you will need to perform this task is a small Phillips head screwdriver.

The first thing we need to do is move the screw cover out of the way, so that we can get to the screws thathold the back cover in place. The screw cover can either be a rubber type (white or black depending on the T10 you have) or a clear plastic piece that is made for holding a stylus. KB283_04.jpg
At the top is the rubber type. At the bottom is the stylus type.
The rubber type can be removed by turning the tablet so that you are looking at the back side of the unit, then pulling up one end or the other, gently. One side will come up easy, the other will not. The side that does not come up easily will stay attached, the rest will easily pop out.

The clear plastic stylus clip can be removed by pulling straight up on one side of the clip. Much like the rubber type, one side will come off easier than the other side. Once all but the one side are popped out of place, swing the rest out of the way. KB283_05.jpg
Now you should see the two screws we need to remove from the unit. Remove these screws and keep them in a safe place. They are pretty small and can get lost easily. We recommend using a magnet or a small container with a lid. KB283_06.JPG To open the unit up, all you will need to do is use your fingernails to open one corner. Where the rear cover and the chassis comes together, you will see a groove. Using your fingernails as leverage, you should be able to pull the back cover off of the chassis. This does not take a lot of effort. You should not have to pull very hard to get the unit open. Just a firm but smooth pull. Then just work your way around the top, sides and bottom of the unit to get the back cover off. KB283_01.jpg In the image above you will see the connector we are looking for if this connector has become unplugged, the battery never gets a charge and cannot provide power. If this is the case, the tablet will only power on/work if it is connected to the power adapter. KB283_02.jpg This is a very easy problem to fix in order to keep this from happening again. Just reconnect the battery connector to the plug on the motherboard and secure it in place with a small piece of electrical tape. Now close up the rear panel by starting at the bottom of the unit, working your way around both sides, then the top last. You will hear audible pops as the clips on the rear housing go into place on the main tablet chassis. When the rear housing is installed correctly there won't be any gaps. To finish just install the two screws and replace the stylus clip or rubber cover.
