Why do I have less RAM than what I ordered?

Cause - Video Memory is derived from the system memory (RAM) and/or 32-bit Operating System is installed (GX31 Family)

The design of our Space-Saving PCs requires the video card to be a part of the motherboard, rather than a separate card with its own video memory. Because of this design, the video memory is shared with the system memory. This can account for an amount of RAM that is less than what was ordered.

For the GX31 family of units, support for up to 4 GB of RAM was added to enable Windows Vista and Windows 7 features and functionality. However, if a 32-bit version of Windows is installed, only up to 3.25 GB of RAM can be utilized. This will result in less RAM being available as is installed. To resolve this issue, install a 64-bit version of Windows.
